Trendopedia AI in depth

Trendopedia AI is a MetaTrader 5 trend-following Expert Advisor that trades the H4 timeframe on a basket of major forex pairs (EURUSD, GBPUSD, USDJPY, AUDUSD). A regime filter keeps the EA flat during choppy markets and only engages when multi-timeframe trend confirmation aligns. Minimum deposit: $1,000. Typical trade frequency: 5–15 trades per pair per month. Lowest-attention EA in the FxRobotEasy line.

Recommended setup

  • Pairs: EURUSD, GBPUSD, USDJPY, AUDUSD on H4 (one chart per pair).
  • Broker: any regulated STP broker works fine; ECN is unnecessary at H4 frequency.
  • VPS: optional. Trendopedia survives intermittent disconnects better than scalpers because trade frequency is low.
  • Risk per trade: 1% default. Increases acceptable on the Aggressive preset for scaling accounts.
  • Presets: three risk profiles — Conservative, Balanced, Aggressive. Default install applies Balanced.

Risk profile

Trend strategies lose money in range-bound markets — the regime filter materially reduces the bleed but cannot eliminate it. Typical losing pattern is a quarter of consecutive whipsaws during a sideways macro regime. Maximum historical drawdown across tested samples is in the 10–18% range.

Trendopedia AI FAQ

How often does Trendopedia AI trade?

Trendopedia AI is low-frequency by design — typically 5–15 trades per pair per month on the default H4 timeframe. The regime filter keeps the EA flat during range-bound markets, so months with no clear trend can see far fewer trades. This makes Trendopedia the lowest-attention EA in the FxRobotEasy line.
Trade frequency depends on the regime classifier. In strongly-trending markets (e.g. extended EURUSD downtrends, multi-week dollar-index moves) Trendopedia is active and adds positions as the trend extends. In ranging conditions the regime filter classifies the market as inactive and Trendopedia stops opening new positions, sometimes for weeks. This is by design — over-trading a range-bound market is the easiest way to bleed equity in a trend strategy.

Does Trendopedia AI work on small accounts?

The recommended minimum is $1,000. Trendopedia trades multiple pairs concurrently, and at smaller account sizes the lot rounding compromises the per-pair risk envelope. Sub-$500 accounts are possible but realised performance will materially diverge from the reference account.
On a $1,000 account with the default basket of four major pairs, each pair effectively gets $250 of risk allocation. At 1% per-trade risk that is $2.50, which still produces meaningful 0.01-lot positions across the major pairs. Below $1,000 the math gets tight and the EA may skip trades that would round below 0.01 lot.
