Ping

Definition

Ping is the round-trip network latency between the trader's server and the broker's server, measured in milliseconds. For automated trading it is a critical performance metric: every millisecond of ping adds slippage on volatile fills. Sub-10ms ping is excellent; over 100ms is problematic for active strategies.
